The fact that the 21st century needs a new method of treatment that keeps the patient away from the risks of the traditional open surgeries has made Professor Ahmed Sami a pioneer in the field of Interventional Radiology in Egypt and the Arab world.Over the past 35 years, Professor Ahmed Sami has pioneered in the use of radiology not only in the diagnosis but also in the treatment of different diseases in which he used to treat them by a small hole not exceeding 2 mm instead of large incisions without serious complications. This of course did not need General anesthesia, but only local anesthesia.
“Interventional Radiology (IR) can reduce the length of hospital stays, minimize potential complications of some serious operations for example in the brain and nervous system and can help in saving lives without surgical intervention “
Interventional radiology without surgery
Interventional Radiology (IR) is one of the most technologically advanced and fastest growing specialties of modern medicine. It provides the alternative to surgical intervention in many diseases, therefore, it is called 21st-century surgery. Many diseases can be treated by a small hole not exceeding 2 mm using different techniques under the radiological guidance to reach the target organ without general anesthesia. In most cases, it is only local anesthesia, so patients can return home the same day and resume normal life within few days without serious complications..

The story of non-surgical procedures
The story of non-surgical procedures over decades and years had only two options for the patient when falling victim to a certain illness: The first is medical treatment to the extreme right. The other is surgical intervention to the extreme left. There are no other choices between these two solutions in this vast space. So if the patient is cured by medical treatment, it’s a blessing and praise be to God. If not, then the only option left is to resort to the surgical solution, which many patients may not prefer. Despite the great and remarkable successes of surgery over the years, the question that has persisted for many patients and doctors alike is: Do all cases require major open surgery? Are there no simpler alternatives to surgery for dealing with less complicated cases?

"Dr. Ahmed Sami is a name that truly reflects our experience after suffering with the spine. We were at our wits' end, with surgery being the only option according to everyone except Dr. Sami and Dr. Abdulrahman Rajeh, a neurosurgeon. They adamantly rejected the idea of surgery. Dr. Sami was the one who, by the grace of God, finally came up with a solution that was endorsed by the neurology professor. The patient was told her nerves would function normally. The situation improved gradually from January 2017 until August 2017. She started moving slowly but surely, and by the grace of God, she's been doing great until now. According to Dr. Sami, surgery for her condition was deemed impossible as it would have been a suicidal mission for the patient. I testify before God and in His presence, may He bless them."

"Alhamdulillah, my mother had been suffering from an eye problem, and we went to many places for a whole year without anyone being able to diagnose it. But Dr. Ahmed diagnosed it simply, and it was a rare diagnosis. Alhamdulillah, now she's feeling better. I'm very thankful to you, and this is a true testimony."
